I think this looks great! I really like the texture that you added, I think that it gives a really nice quality to the overall piece. The only thing i suggest is maybe lightening the skin color a little bit, I think that having a porcelain type color might make the face pop more.
You're doing a great job with the dot work. I think that you can use the dots to add shades and other details to the portrait. For example I think you can do a great job around the lips to make them more full looking with just dotting.
