Critique 2 - Carolyn Duff

The cat in the garage climbed on the bike and fell into the Christmas tree.

Bike: Realistic

Cat: Anthropomorphism

I struggled with the anthropomorphism - I tried to make the cat look kind of mischievous and up to no good but I'm not sure if the human like expression translated. I tried to make it work with the eyebrows and a slight smirk but if anyone has any suggestions for how to make it better please help!

  1. The shadowing and highlights that portray the roundness, curves, and details of the frame are really great. My only suggestion would be to maybe add more detail to the tire and the chain, but overall, nice job!

  2. Your bike looks awesome and very realistic. Your use of gradients works very well and and really helps make it seem more realistic. The only thing that isn't working is the text of the brand, it looks slightly cut off. Maybe try using a slightly smaller font or taking it off.

  3. I really like the details of the wires and lines on the rims. I agree about the highlights and shadows, it gives the object depth and realistic qualities.

  4. I really like your bike, definitely your best piece of the three. Great use of colors to represent a leather-like seat and a metal frame.

One thing that you could definitely work on is the traction marks on the tires, they look a little too simple. Try adding some depth to them, or play with adding more of them and disappearing at the very edge.

    Great job! keep it up.
