I agree that this purple color works better than the turquoise.It matches the tone in your portrait and gives you a nice cool look as it contrasts the blue and warm "peach" of your skin tone. It's really beautiful.
The purple looks awesome. Adding just a little detail to it helps too. It really emphasizes the focus being on you. I feel like this needs to be a profile picture for like your blog or portfolio site or linkedin or something. It'd be a great representation of your skills.
